The Half Crown was a Silver coin which had a value half of a Crown equivalent to two and a Half Shillings, 30 Pennies, or one-eighth of a Pound. The Half Crown was first issued in 1549 in the reign of Edward VI. From the reign of Elizabeth IHalf Crowns were issued in every reign until the coins were discontinued in 1967. The Half Crown did not display its value on the reverse until 1893.
They are very collectible antique coins and are very popular as such. R. Ingram coins always have an excellent selection and we are particularly proud of our range of Victorian Half Crowncoins.
